Kitchenproducts for the international consumermarket.
For the Jamie Oliver brand, the Hague design agency Ontwerpwerk has designed a line of kitchenware. The products distinguish themselves by their sober design, functionality, quality and affordability.
The products have been manufactured in a variety of materials. The main material is melamine, a synthetic resin. Ontwerpwerk has a long experience with this material and its production techniques from designing the PLUS series for Designum.
The colander and the mixing bowls have a matte exterior; the inside of these products has a high gloss finish. They are available in black and in white.
The cutting boards and the knife set are made either of bamboo or polyethylene. The synthetic cutting board’s surfaces have two different colors; white for vegetables and black for meat.
The knives are manufactured in stainless steel with a tactile rubber (polyurethane) handle. The measuring cups and the storage boxes are made of clear san (a mix of polystyrene and acrylic). These products will be introduced to the international consumer market at the Ambiente Fair in Frankfurt from 8 to 10 February.

Keukenproducten voor de internationale consumentenmarkt.
Deze producten voor de keuken zijn door Ontwerpwerk (Ed Annink) ontworpen in opdracht van de Nederlandse licentiehouder van het label Jamie Oliver. Er zijn verschillende materialen gebruikt, het hoofdmateriaal is melamine (een synthetisch kunstharsproduct) dat in de jaren zestig en zeventig o.a. werd gebruikt voor keukenproducten. Ontwerpwerk heeft ervaring met dit materiaal en de bijhorende productietechniek opgedaan bij het ontwerp van de PLUS serie voor Designum. Bij het vergiet en de mixing bowls is de buitenzijde mat terwijl de binnenzijde van de producten hoogglans is afgewerkt. De snijplanken zijn uit zowel bamboe als een kunstof gemaakt. Bij de kunststof uitvoering zijn er twee kleuren gebruikt; wit voor groenten, zwart voor vlees. De maatbekers en de voorraad containers zijn gemaakt van glashelder san (een vermenging van polystyreen en acrylaat). Het messenblok is gemaakt van bamboe en kunststof. De messen zijn van roestvrij staal met een enigszins zacht rubberen (polyurethaan) handgreep. In februari 2008 is de collectie geïntroduceerd op de internationale consumentenmarktbeurs, de Ambiente, in Frankfurt.
